The .38 Special has been a standard cartridge since it was introduced in 1899. Besides, 9mm and .45acp are auto pistol rounds and would require moon clips which, in my opinion, are more trouble than they're worth.

check ruger's website, it clearly states its a polymer grip frame.

the cylinder frame is made of aluminum while the lower grip frame which contains all of the fire control parts is made of polymer. This makes up the majority of the revolvers frame and thus you can just as easily call it polymer frame.

Either way its a very innovative design in that there hasn't been anything like it yet.

FWIW, the frame is not polymer, it is aluminum. Michael doesn't know what he's talking about.

Damn it...I just bought the LCP...I'd rather have the LCR for personal protection....The great thing about the revolver with a bobbed hammer is that it can be fired while in a coat pocket without malfunction...ie. going for your wallet, bad guy gets surprised. I can't fire multiple rounds from my coat pocket with my LCP.
