One of the deepest stations in the system. The second escalator alone takes over 2 minutes and 20 seconds to go down

  • This can't be longer than Porter Square

  • @2012alexg It is. Porter sqaure is 105 feet deep, this is 160 feet.

  • the 2 up escalator idea was cool, but what about another down?

  • @Weegee010 I think another down elevator opens during evening rush hour (they switch the middle one's direction).

  • boston's equivalent is porter sqaure, easily the longest escalators in new england!

  • Cool maybe I'll try to film those sometime to compare!

  • @2012alexg o it just looks shorter from my perspective. Ive been meaning to do porter's escalator

  • Wow that is one long escalator

  • Bethesda is the 2nd longest escalator which is longer than this one. Wheaton holds the title.

    This is the third longest.

  • just south of woodley park, if u look on google maps, is rock creek valley, which cuts deep into the city. rather than using toronto's method of constructing bridges over deep valleys between tunnels, WMATA decided to use deep bore tunneling and go under the valley
