With music and Lyrics by Cole Porter ( book by Samuel and Bella Spewack), Kiss Me Kate ran for more than 1,000 performances on Broadway and earned the first-ever Tony Award for best musical, proving to be a comeback triumph for Cole Porter. Structured as a "play within a play," music and comedy come together in a rousing theatre experience.
