    ¡Saludos!

  • High production value! But the knight in armour looks like Yule Brenner or a villain form the original Star Trek.

  • perfect!

  • @kyrpap1981 - Ah! The way life should be! I also HAD L'Orfeo, when CDs were first invented, but lost them when I moved. I see you also like these 'authentic' productions: you have The Return of Ulysses, which I've barely heard, among other esoteric things. I was whistling melodies from L'Orfeo at work.....it helps the time fly by.

  • @kyrpap1981 - yes, authentic from Monteverdi's time. I actually meant that. But, of course this is a projection of a modern designer, so it is not certified 'authentic'. Anyway, it's fantastical and Renaissancey/Baroque. It's as if Terry Gilliam designed it: based on prints and paintings of the era, with exaggerated elements. Did I say I love it?

  • nope... the first opera ever was Dafne by jacopo Peri... unfortunately, it got lost back then... but Jacopo Peri composed a second one in 1600 "Euridice".

  • not to mention, one of the first. Or was it the first? Now I think about it... I think this was the first opera ever?

  • i love eurydice's song here

  • i remember araiza at this time.
