@sdlew41 its called hammering the strings. that means playing the frets only by hammering and sliding the fingers and not strumming with the other hand. easy to do with an electric guitar with high distortion and volume. and this is not lip synced
@sdlew41 ZZ Top has long used sequencers (bits and pieces of guitar sounds) in their live performances, which I have no problem with. However, you have misinterpreted what occurred here. Billy often plays the frets with his left hand while not striking the strings with his right - check out recent live performances of "I Need You Tonight" where he plays the entire solo on the frets only. Same thing here.

Sooo..vocals are lip-synced on this? Looks like his guitar knows the song without him too....check 3:50 to hear it play without him touching it.
Still one of my all time favorites even if it's not all live.
