I worked on this film. In fact, I did the voice over for a few of the sequences and I can assure you this ride and this wave happened.

no it's not fake i have seen the whole movie before and it's deff. not fake and no he didn't win the competition but he got the biggest wave of the year! i love this movie it inspired me to surf! and i love it!
