@james420810 I agree! I love koegels. I cannot get them here in Indiana though. I was in Detroit last summer. I stopped by American/ Lafayette Coney Island. They are using a natural casing dog made by a company by the name of Dearborn Sausage Company. Really good as well. Someone told me Angelos was actually using a N/C dog made by a company in East Pointe. I do not know why, but for some reason you can't get a decent hot dog at a resturant with a natural casing in Indiana.
@Maytons starlite is disgusting, eat there if u enjoy crackheads preparing ur food. next time u eat a coney think of som1 plunging the steamer w/ a toilet plunger....=)
While I commend you on this interesting recipe, it is not remotely close to being the authentic coney sauce and not even a facsimili of the authentic sauce. Again, interesting though. True coney spice only has dry ingredients. No hot dogs...no tomato paste or mustard or garlic! All dry spices. Strange but true! The idiotic comment below is true...none of the above ingredients are inthe coney sauce....NONE! Hopefully, I won't be called an idiot though! Again, interesting recipe tho.
This guy doesn't even have the meat right... No lean ground beef, no butter, no garlic, no mustard, no water, no tomato paste... Brutal! That looks like burnt crap! I make a lot of sauce and he is way off. Steamed bun is right though

Don't listen to the idiotic comments below, they are trollers. This sauce is extremely close to what both Starlite and Angelos make. Very tasty!!
