A slowed version for those who want to learn how to make a Lucky Star.

Sorry about the low quality...I have a cheap camera.

Just remember when you are folding..to let the paper go on its own. It knows where to go. :P

Also, if you don't have nails to push the sides in, you can try using either a quarter or a dime, or also try pinching the sides with your thumb and index finger. Good Luck!

Since it was asked~

I bought my paper off of an Australian site

http://www.origami.com.au/

The name of the type I use is called "SHINE STAR"

I usually buy my origami supplies online, You can type in Google, "Japanese Paper and Origami Supplies" and quite a few options come out. :3

Hope that helps people,

  • It seems my paper doesnt know where to go...

  • @veggievegetarian LOL!

Aww, don't force it. All you have to do is follow the edges when you begin folding. you will always end up on another side.

  • where do u get them strip paper

  • @elaine6655 try craft shops online or in person. Also, ebay is a good option.

  • Do you have to have sharp fingernails if you want to use your fingers? My fingernails are blunt and I've tried making japanese stars puffy but it either stuffs up or turns out flat-ish

  • @audreyeatworld You don't need nails to do this at all! I can't really pinch it with my forefinger and thumb because my nails are too long to grasp the little paper in that manner. The actual preferred way is to pinch with your fingers. But there are other options as well if you want to mimic the fingernail technique I showed here. You can either use a coin or another thin, but blunt object. Like the back of a pair of scissors.

  • wonderful !

  • You make this look so easy XD

So far all my stars have failed.. i think im getting there though.

I think the only thing that's wrong with it is i'm using printer paper and cutting it to 1cm by 20cm depending. Then again it might be me.. but i'm following all the folds. Hopefully i'll get better :)

  • THANK YOU!!! I had worked my self into a frenzy trying to get it to come out right, I got a headache too. the instructions were in Korean, and I don't understand much >.<
