I'll give you this. Your posts are consistently hilarious! Take a tip from one of your elders and don't ever try to tell me I need an education on Kylie's career - clearly, I could run rings around you in that department. Next up, go find me that quote of yours and tell me exactly where to find it, right here. That's right - the one where William Baker cites Madonna as a SINGULAR influence on Kylie's looks and CAREER MOVES. I suspect you'll have trouble...
The truth is Baker cites LOTS of sources of inspiration when it comes to what he - and Kylie - have created TOGETHER. You should also know that he is not in a position to make decisions about Kylie's "career moves" - such a notion is ludicrous. But we're off topic again - your point was that Kylie "plagiarised" Madonna THIS TIME and you've yet to give me any substantial evidence that this really is the case THIS TIME - other than simply spouting your own evidently biased opinion.
you cant lead the blind my friend, its right in front of your face, her whole career. Madonna opened the door, Kylie followed. Go read La La La from front to back, get the picture?? Kylie Minogue was a manufactured pop star whom got lucky because of the right manufactured sound, she lept on what Madonna had started, its evident in her early tours, her looks, her sexuality, her record producers and now her tour styles, the way she puts on a show is thanks to Blond Ambition, Madonna brought that!!
Funny how the book mentions Blond Ambition 12 times, the looks from Madonna's Girly Show pilfered for On a night Like this tour, funny how he discusses Madonna as an ICON, mentioning his need to see Kylie attributed to a dance just like Madonnas Vogue, hes ridiculous! He got rejected as a co-assistant for Blond ambition in 1990, he's hell-bent on producing his OWN madonna, because shes to crap on her own he drags her up as a second rate Madonna when all he really wants is to work with Madonna.
Your factual innacuracies aside, my original point/opinion still stands. Comparing Kylie and Madonna is ultimately pointless. Nobody can deny that Madonna paved the way for countless artists, Kylie included. But make no mistake, other artists paved the way for Madonna and I really take exception to claims of "plagiarism". Especially since, by your definition of the word, Madonna's made a very successful career out of it herself!
You're making a point that EVERYTHING Kylie has ever done has plagiarised Madonna which, as a simple matter of FACT, is completely FALSE. Arguing otherwise, paired with your insistence that everything Madonna has ever done has been original really damages your credibility.
Besides, for someone who calls Kylie second-rate, you claim to know a lot about her and her associates. Now admit it, you kinda like her a little, don't you?
I dont have a problem with Kylie she is what she is, a pop star. That im afraid is where it ends. I do have a problem with over inflation of her career, she's been put on pedastel by a hard core sector of gay fans whom refuse to acknowledge her beginings, where she came from. Madonna is in adifferent league, Kylie is pop lite fluff, Madonna is hard to the core, the real deal, she has a connection to culture Kylie could only dream of. Kylie has leafed off Madonna's career end of.
There is no such thing as "over inflation of her career" - the figures speak for themselves. Just because those figures aren't as impressive as Madonna's doesn't cancel them out, so it's pointless trying to belittle them by making claims that every single one of Kylie's achievements is all thanks to Madonna.
And anyway, why do you care so much about other people's opinions about Kylie, given that you don't even like her much yourself?
..as for Madonna plagiarising others careers. Marylin monroe? Bette Davies? Thats paying homage, Kylie is to hard faced to admit paying homage to Madonna, except for her awful rendition of Vogue on The Girly Show tour...sorry, Showgirl Tour! Madonna uses certain designers, looks and promo techniques to sell her albums, Kylie uses the same. Madonna's promo gigs for her Music album were exclusive events, Kylie copied this format with her Money cant Buy thing....i could go on and on and on...
Excellent. Madonna pays homage but Kylie plagiarises. Thanks for exposing your outrageous bias once again!
You can call it "Kylie plagiarising Madonna paying homage" if you like (which would be ridiculous) but you need to face up to the fact that they both do it, so it's either plagiarism for both, or it's paying homage for both.
Arguing otherwise just makes you out to be one of those hard core fans you claim to have a problem with.

And, by the way, wasn't it The Girlie Show?
