I hear u! One thing though is that alot of the guys you're describing here aren't even saved, they're basically church-going/religious...But yh I'm feeling what you said still, I'm learning alot. I like what you said about kissing in the relationship...boy...my view was that it's cool, but you're definitely on point about that

@UnrealHelix You bring up a good point. Yeah, there's churchianity and then there's Christianity. (And then there's the emergent church...HA!) And sometimes there is just a lot of hurt or pain that leads people to act certain ways
Nevertheless God loves em.

@marlessangela "...there serving. Not because they're humble. But serving because they want other people to see them serving" . This statement to me seems to be an intent on the heart of the individual. From your perspective how is one able to tell Whether a Christian is serving for pride or out of sincere service to Jesus?

That's a super good question!
I think that the best biblical example of this would be the Pharisees. On the outside, they "looked" all together and seemed righteous, but really, they were compelled to serve out of legalism and pride, rather than love or humility. They had their own man made codes- (The Mischna) which they revered and loved more than God.

Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. (Matt 6 1-2)
When we serve- the underlying goal should be to please God-not men. :)
If we want to please men- we boast, if we want to please God we are humble about it.
