@BustersTexas right now my best snatch isn't even half of the super heavy weight world record, which is kinda ridiculous. But yeah snatching from the floor is probably not the ideal thing for vert training. Not like it's worthless tho. Front squats? I don't use them because the upper body is usually what limits the weight you can lift or the velocity you can lift at. I don't want to do squats that are limited by the upper body. I see no advantage to front squats over back squats.

@BustersTexas first lets get correct terminology. A power snatch/clean means you catch the bar with the thighs above parallel. It has nothing to do with pulling from the hang or the floor. That's a common mistake. What I use most for vert training is a hang power snatch. I do snatch from the floor some times pretty much just for fun. It lets me do more weight, and I like to see where I'd be if I switched over to Oly lifting
