Woman Freaks Out on Bus (Trimet, Route 52)

Friday, June 5th, 2009, 2:00 PM PST

A middle-aged woman freaks out after a legally blind man with a baby strapped to his chest accidentally sits on her umbrella. The first thing I heard was a man saying "Jesus Christ!" and then a woman started yelling really loudly. The blind man apologized profusely and explained that he couldn't see very well, but the woman kept verbally assaulting him, scaring the baby.

The driver immediately called the police when the woman threatened the blind man with her umbrella. She was ready to hit him AND the baby! People on the bus yelled at her to get off. A brave man from the back of the bus charged forward and seized the umbrella from the woman and narrowly avoids getting kicked in the nuts. At this point, the blind man with his baby, makes it safely to the back of the bus where the man who intervened continues to argue with the crazy bitch.

The woman was too loud to be coherent, but she said something about being harassed every time she got on a bus. O.K. I guess sitting on her umbrella counts as harassment. I'm so glad I didn't choose to sit near the front because even I didn't see the umbrella which was black sitting on a black seat. Now why did the woman place her umbrella on the seat across from her?

The police finally arrive five minutes later and the woman calms down and gets off and sits on a bench with a little girl (her daughter, I presume). It took another 15 minutes for the police to gather all necessary information. No charges were pressed and the woman was still pissed as hell.

Sorry I didn't capture more footage. I did record the beginning when it all started, but I accidentally hit the "cancel/erase" button and lost the video. ARGH!!
