1) First balloon is was filled with my mini me cell.

2) The second balloon was a 6 x 8 inch, 25 plate, 1/16th gaskets, and sodium hydroxide electrolyte. Running at 12volts and 6 amps.

3) The third balloon was filled with the cell in my mustang. It has 18, 6 x 6 inch plates, 6 neutral plates, KOH electrolyte, moisture separated, and running at 14 volts 8 amps.

The difference in the power release is pretty obvious. The third balloon was easily 100 times more energy released as the other two balloons.

I used a 1/4 inch hose 20 feet long to flash back to the balloon.

Please Don't Try this your self. Being around and handling these balloons scares the live crap out of me. I can't tell you how bad things could go wrong.

  • Was the third one so much freakin louder because you separated out all the moisture? If so, how did you get the moisture out?

  • The third balloon was so much louder because the cell was running at 1.9 volts per plate gap and the DC was pulsed with a PWM. There probably wasn't as much moisture in the last one because it was run though glass beads but I don't think that had a lot to do with how load they were. The other two were older cells running off a battery charger.

  • That's so cruel LOL

  • MY FRIENDS WERE COVERING THE DOG'S EARS !!!!!! She was a good 30ft away from the explosions, besides she is the only dog I know that likes fireworks more than me.

  • LOL, a soldering wire spool....

  • It was there to keep the balloon from moving around and floating up. It was just something I had handy. If it works go with it right.

  • Oh I got it now, had to watch a couple times, you're actually igniting the other end of a long tube ...nice.

  • how do you remote detonate the balloons? I have a 13 gal garbage bag floating in my garage that I want to blow up so bad (my first experiment) but I don't want to give myself any blunt force trauma in the process! I was going to use a stungun with leads into the bag, but I accidentally fried it testing it out (forgot to turn the pwr adapter voltage back down to 9v) That mylar balloon WOULD be EPIC. Dooo it! You could always get, and sound a blast siren prior, that way hey, you warned people

  • WIN.

    Awesome.

  • Yeah, but freedom is a good thing. You may be incarcerated for blowing up stuff like that. I'd say do it, but who knows what would actually happen. Those little balloons are fine for now!!! Hehe, apb

  • Those balloons are brutal. Geez, How do the blow up so loudly? I love them, and would love to blast one of those bad boys off. Hehe, cool vid', ApB

  • When you separate the water and make HHO gas how is it possible to store the hho in a balloon without reformation of the gasses to form water again?.. have you tryed to separate the HH from O so you have pure Hydrogen?.. and how is your dog`s hearing?..
