This is how I restored lost throttle response in my 1984 Ford Tempo.

Part used is a Blackburn "ADR2-B2" Connector.
UPC #: 783786371884
It's found at Home Depot, in the electrical aisle, next to the plastic zip-ties.

An alternative way of doing this, in case your car DOES have adjustment bolts under the hood - Explained by EricTheCarGuy:

  • Nice little quick fix... These kind of "clamps" van be used for many things... great to have a couple of different sizes in the toolbox for road side emergency repairs... did this with a clutch cable that snapped just by the fitting... tight one but I managed to get home and that was good enough for me

  • @bigtoy63 Yes, they're apparently quite useful! It was a perfect fit for the job!

  • Thanks!

This is my first venture into how-to videos, lol.

  • i would but i rather buy things that will keep my car running longer than just run it faster and fuck it up. lol

  • I just performed this on my Mustang today and it really does work! I can deff feel a difference. My gas pedal is very touchy/sensative now lol i gotta get used to it. I'm guessing it's now opening up my throttle body all the way which is good cause that means I gained back a little horsepower that was lost throughout the 14 years my car has seen. Thanks again for the tip! :-)

  • Hey man nice find! I'm about to do this to my 98 Mustang..I've always wonderd why I can move the pedal towards me like a whole inch and a half lol now it all makes sense!

  • "In This Clip"

  • awww dude that looks so suss

  • You seemed really depressed this whole video.

  • thanks for the info mate, cheers

  • @Network126 Mine's an '87. i'm almost sure 84 was the only carbureted model year for the Tempo. mine tends to buck and shut off sometimes, and I have no idea what could cause that one...the pedal feels better after i used some clamps tho lol I used the metal ones for the hoses though

  • @scenefaith What year is your Tempo? Is it carbureted? Mine is, and it's an '84 (the first year of the Tempo).
