L.A. Neighborhood Speeders

I agree with you. I mean, this is supposed to be a neighborhood, not a freeway! Why isn't the city of LA doing anything about it? You did your best in monitoring these type of activities in your neighborhood. I wish you luck and offer you my support for traffic safety. Did you contact the police department about having them monitor the illegal speed activities, so they can give speeders their speeding tickets?

Cars could end up in your living room

wow. I would not want to live in that neighborhood with children. Maybe you can try dressing as a cop and pointing a hair dryer at the cars. It might look like a speed gun. ... I don't know =-/

Very good video. All politicians want to do is to make money. They don't care about people once they are voted in. They are all liars. What will it take? A fatal accident? A car crashing thru a home? This will eventually happen. Will it take a fatality to finally change the street? Also, if you think this is bad, this is paradise compared to the criminal driving in Miami Florida!

Go buy a few regulation size stop signs and install them yourself, if the city really does suck they wont even notice or care.

@Roiitokoloshe we had the same problem but cops here in camden nj never did anything so we went and pour brunt motor oil and watch them crash that fixed the problems now everyone knows about the street and slows down
Good video but you went about getting your problem fixed the wrong way. Get yourself down to your LOCAL police precinct or sheriff's station, ask to speak to the officer in charge of traffic enforcement or better still the officer in charge of the motor unit. Quietly tell him/her about your problems, show him/ her this video. Don't bitch about nothing being done, just ask if there is anything your LOCAL law enforcement can do to help. If you do this & you will be surprised at what happens.

@Roiitokoloshe Oh, I already did that, the local police have seen the video and they don't seem to care. I have officially asked for a "speed trap" or monitoring system on my street and they have not obliged. I was told that they can't afford to have someone sit here and watch traffic. I told them it would just take 10 minutes any weekday between 5 and 6. Again, no help.

We have the same issue in my neighborhood. We've had numerous accidents and there have been six pedestrians hit in the ten years I've been here, one of which paralyzed the victim. The city has told me NO speed humps or stop signs will be "wasted" on our street. I took over Neighborhood Watch in 2004, bought a radar unit and have been instrumental in lowering the number of speeders. I've also learned to utilize the online complaint forms from the city police dept. website. Maybe give that a try.

@kiakeiene Good for you! I'd love to know the specifics of what you do and about the online complaint forms.

Since this is almost 3 years old... what ever happened?

@senamar We still have the problem. And now, they just did a "slurry seal" over all our streets and obliterated all the markings, including the speed hump markings, and cars are flying down the street even faster and hitting the speed bumps at top speed. It shakes our whole house.
