@2608adrian Second class. To be exact: This was a German Bpmz 294, which means, that it was Second class passenger car (= B), open seating plan (= p), at least 26.4 m long with doors at the end of the car and rubber bulge protected changeover (= m), and train power supply line (= z), which is a refurbished Intercity car, licensed for 200 km/h, and equipped with bogies type Minden-Deutz 52 (= 294).
@msearthstone In poland you dont really need a pass as it is cheaper to buy tickets directly from station(unless you are staying in poland in which case you need to look up prices for trains beforehand. Either way rail pass is alot cheaper if and only if you do alot of rail travel. Otherwise, buy train tickets 1-2 months in advance for days and routes you know are going on . I.e in germany where you can get fares as low as 19-29 euro for a one way ticket if bought in advance
@msearthstone if you are going for 2 weeks, I would recommend it. I used one during my 2 week trip during december/january 09/10.I used the poland-germany rail pass and it saved me a LOT of money. I paid about $500 canadian for a first class pass, and with all the train travel I did, I worked it out to be over $1000 euro! So yeah, also it depends on the countries that you are going to.
Hey I am going to backpack in Europe sept/oct for 2 weeks. Did you get the eurail pass? Or it was worth buying individual tickets?
It doesnt look very cold in your videos. I seldom see ppl wearing jackets. And was it relatively less crowded during october? You think its necessary to buy all tickets in advance? Including entrance tickets? Thx
