@Thesteveism If you want to be in airborne like I did, you need to show to your DS that you got the guts. Pass your APFT with the highest score, and DO NOT FUCK UP. Also get expert marksmanship during quals. Oh also be 11B because 11B has the highest chance of going to airborne school.

Seriously looks like an eagle having babies...maybe I should see an optometrist.

@Thesteveism you have to get in your contract i think
-
How do you get to go to airborne school? I havent shipped yet.

@PrivateArtur If satinderjit4 is 17, he needs his parents signature. I joined at 17, and I still graduated from boot camp and AIT befor I was 18. I still needed my mom's signature.

@sheltonap when I was in the 82nd in 1977, the only people not required to be airborne qualified were Division Artillery. They had some legs in their three battalions, and jump school was always available to them if they changed their mind.

What I miss most? Exiting, falling out of the sky, the black hats bellowing at us through their bull horns and not understanding a damn word, landing, getting up and doing it all over again! Airborne Every Day, Airborne All The Way!!!

@xxcsyannaxx When is your ship date? I'm shipping there for infantry as well.

@satinderjit4 OMG dude you are not a kid anymore if u are joining the Armed Forces. U have to make the decision urself. Its like saying no honey u cant work at starbucks cuz the coffee that may spill can burn your hand. dont let ur mom tchoose ur path trust me ive been there.

no joke. you gotta have balls to go airborne plus next to that is ranger school. hats off to you guys. i ship for ft. benning but as infantry.
The 82nd Airborne is an entire DIVISION of Airborne personnel. Meaning EVERYBODY jumps.....cooks, admin, mechanics. The 101st Airborne is primarily an Air Assault Division (fast rope, sling load, helicopters) with one Battalion of TRUE airborne soldiers. Honestly the 82nd does everything, and we do it better.
