The scattering of cremated remains at sea has been an attractive alternative to other forms of interment for many generations and for many reasons. Return to nature, love of the everlasting sea, wishes of the deceased, nautical background or experiences and other frequently cited reasons for selecting sea scattering for the final disposition of cremated remains. This service is offered by the Mamarine, sensitively throughout the year. Mamarine will take you, relatives / friends & loved ones (up to 12 per vessel ) departing from Universal Marina Hamble (or other ports by agreement) for a cruise out to an agreed location in the Solent (usually taking up to 4 hours), where our Skipper will drop anchor and bring the boat to rest. The Boat will be held in a sheltered position for the ceremony to commence - Pouring of the ashes onto the sea can be carried out from the rear bathing of the boat's bathing platform (with safety harness/life jacket) Words of remembrance with any special music (please bring your own CD or I Pod which will be linked into the boats sound system) to accompany your last farewell requests - you will be able to put in any floral tributes, bouquets or other memorable items. We also offer "Bio Urns / Caskets (containing the ashes) which allow up to 3 minutes before they sink gentle to sea bottom. We also carry out unattended Ashes scattering (with a video /photos & mobile phone contact during the ceremony) for those unable to fulfil the deceased's wishes of being present at sea for the scattering of the ashes. Whilst we have a fixed price package covering up to 12 guests we are able to "tailor" an Ashes Scattering to your requirements and where possible your budget - we will provide you with a certificate of location (latitude & longitude) so you can revisit the exact location on a future occasion or anniversary. We carry a full Alcohol licence (2003 Act) and are able to offer full Champagne Celebration Wakes with M&S Executive Buffets - 0800 081 1542 or email john@mamarine.com to discuss your requirements
