The video inspired by a joke I was told by a Mexican goes like this:
A: What is the first line of a Mexican recipe?
B: Steal the chicken...
60% of illegal immigration in the US constitute of Mexican population. llegal immigration has been the subject of public discourse for nearly two decades, and in the past few years has become a more negatively charged debate. Statements made by public figures, including Rush Limbaugh, Tom Tancredo, Ann Coulter, and Michael Savage, broadcasted by top-tier news channels like CNN and Fox News, strongly emphasize extremely negative sides of this dispute, which actually serves as a smoke screen for the failure of the U.S. economy policies. Illegal immigrants are being accused of stealing jobs from the middle age American citizens, while at the same time they are desired labor force.

The video concerns issues of being displaced, as being unwanted, yet desired part of a given economical system.

In contemplations of the history I include resolution, which is the coming to an agreement with the past argument. This resolution is hidden like in Illegal, an action where liberation is desired. "Themes of cruelty, nature, and time are aspects of an art which aspire to a process of liberation", says B. Oliva in talk with J. Beuys on German Romantic tradition.

The concept of feudal system is still present nowadays in re-defined form. All Beuyss arguments about liberation of the middle class from feudal system apply to current situation within American social "pecking" order (compare with chicken pecking order). New coming immigrants are in the lowest range of social order. They respond to the settlers (older generations of immigrants) and those in return respond to the first claimers of the American land, the "founding fathers".

In Illegal I captured the cycle of being trapped within a trauma of figuring out identity in the state of new social dependencies. That can be taken from personal perspective, as my own trauma, but also as universal trauma as an act of being trapped.

Beauty is the process of searching for the truth. In Illegal searching for the truth is searching for the resolution, the way out of the trauma and that is beautiful.

"Illlegal" is fine art. And fun, if such a subject can be that! An illegal immigrant, border patrol police, apprehension, incarceration, the Anerican Flag, problems of identity and more. All with a sure eye for the medium. Way above what you'd expect to find on You Tube. Please post more. Thanks.
