A short tribute to Allen.....I shot this while down in Florida back in 99...while there we bumped into an old friend of his that was in Allens first garage band...what timing that was....he had some good stories..

i'll never understand why allen is not mentioned in the same breath as clapton, page, duane, and hendrix. i'm sure there's a long list of famous guitarist who bought their first six string after hearing free bird.

well most people talk about Ronnie and Steve.....why Allen isn't talked more about is beyond my understanding cause it took all those guys to really make the sound of Skynyrd...

What really bother's me.... You see all the other memer's grave sites. All fancy Marble. They thought a lil bronze marker was what Allen deserved. This tribute band could have done the right thing. But to spend money on a Founding Member is to much to ask for. R.I.P L. Allen Collins Jr. the end before i really get going

@himijendrix69 - Whoa! That would have been a great experience. Thanks for sharing your story. I met Allen C. back in 1980 and he signed a RC album for me and said (I'll never forget it), "You remember me from Skynyrd? Thanks!" I'll always remember thinking to myself, "Are you kiddin' me!?" Wonderful moment.

Thanks, also, Tony Beazley, for the posts about the Skynyrd band. I've enjoyed them so much and has given me more insight into one of the world's greatest R&R bands. I would enjoy listening to your insights into what it was like talking with these people! I did have the privilege of meeting Allen in 1980 and Gene Odom in 1982 and wondered what your take on the band was? Take care.
