Photo project. For "Magic, Media and Popular Imagination" class at UNC-G. The project was a comparison of commercialized haunted sites vs. the lesser known sites. The sites in Old Salem and Spencer Mountain are well known as "haunted" and are marketed as such. The Devil's Stomping Ground, while it has been publicized, is not a traditionally commercial site. The remaining sites are not ever advertised as being haunted, and in fact, are generally downplayed as urban myth.

  • Umm... well... because this was a school project for a MEDIA based class where the guidelines required that you use music, photo and/or video to explore themes related to the supernatural in our culture. So, that would be why there is music, shellnric77. Thanks for your comment.

  • Yes one does wonder which tree it was. We went there and done an investigation and I will tell you the place is haunted by someone or many someones. I was so over whealmed by sadness and fear I got sick. Got some really good EVP's and one good photo.

  • I would love to see the photo. I felt a great deal of sadness at that location.

  • You should try visiting Payne Road in Rural Hall, it used to be very, very scary, but it's paved now and the bridge is gone, but you can still just feel the evil down there. They switched the name of the road with the road beside of it so it is now Edwards Road.

  • i have been to both of these places, they are truely haunted and i have gotten some pics of a lifetime at both of these places, i often go to them to see what all i can get and to see if can catch anything on video, but i dont go during the day... i go at night, no flashlights for photography so there is no glare, these places are really haunted!!!
