  • If this is a serious questions you can reply to: eelco@vangelderen.nu.

  • basically what mi24hind said. visibility is a big issue for pilots - see and avoid. with a black jet against terrain that produces very little glare, it would be hard for other traffic to spot the jet, as glare plays a big role in helping spot planes. imagine it's flying at night and the nav lights failed. now you're just pitch black, completely blended in with the night.. NOT good..

  • Jets like this hardly ever fly VFR, they usually fly IFR meaning they are seperated from other traffic by radar guidance. They usually also have TCAS which is a warning system that prevents accidents. Socolor really isn't an issue.

  • No security reasons as far as I know. They have to be washed relatively often though. You see everything on black shiny surfaces ;-)

  • very nice vid, does anybody know why black jets are very rare (apart from being probably more expensive) than serial white ones?. any security reasons?

  • No security reasons. Black fades faster in the high sun radiation at high altitudes and it get dirty faster, thus more expensive to maintain.

  • @SuburbAllied military aircraft normally do not have a pressure cabin?? Haha, so how do you think a military airplane can operate in, let's say, 40.000ft? Without a pressure cabin, a person would die within minutes, even when wearing an oxygen mask. The reason why there are SOME (SR71, F117, B2) (not plenty!) black military jets is because they flew or fly primarily at night and are therefore painted dark-blue/black.

  • Wow!! What a landing.

  • Lord Vader sure knows how to enjoy his retirement.

  • I'll tell you all right now why white is more predominant than black on aircraft: air conditioning. I fly private jets for a living, and they get pretty toasty on the ramp during the summer. A 75-80 degree day can mean 85-90 degrees on the ramp, and upwards of 100 degrees in a white airplane. There is a story of a black Lear that's based in Russia. In the dead of winter, it's great up there. But they flew it to Dubai one summer and it got so hot that the frame warped and the windows cracked.

  • Darth Vader's earth-bound vehicle. It's like a P.O.S. civic to him.

  • X million dollars later, you can look like a badass as you plant a black 525 on the 17 at cannes mandelieu airport... great video otherwise!!!

  • sweet landing dude!!!!!!! he gresed that one

  • TINT THE WINDOWS, ADD GOLD TRIM TO THE RIM AND SHIT LIKE THAT TO MAKE A RAPPER LIMO

  • i think airplanes should be black and not white , because on the clouds they stay invisible *-*
