A short tourism video about Bidford Upon Avon in Warwickshire.
Set in the heart of Shakespeare country, Bidford-upon-Avon sits 6 miles downstream from Stratford Upon Avon, and is a popular mooring point.
The magnificent Roman Bridge, constructed by monks more than 600 years ago. And within the small village centre The Falcon Inn was said to have been a regular haunt by William Shakespeare himself.
Infact Shakespeare is said to have taken part in a drinking competition between Stratford and Bidford, but when the Bidford team outdrank the Stratford team, Shakespeare refused to be in a return match the following day.
There are now four inns in Bidford including The Bridge Riverside Eaterie which sits on the banks of the River Avon.
