Gary W. Burke, age 65, of Manitou Beach, passed away February 6, 2010. Gary was born June 11, 1944 in Dorton, Kentucky the son of Arlie and Mazie (Tackett) Burke. On July 22, 1966 he married Linda Jones in Belleville, MI. She survives. He served his country in the United States Army during the
Vietnam crisis. Gary retired in 1997 from Ford Motor Company, Rawsonville plant after 31 years of service. Gary will be remembered for his love of family, especially his grandchildren. Besides his wife
Linda, Gary is survived by his children, Anthony, Jeffrey, and Andrea; 19 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Beatrice (Norman) Simpson and Vicki (Michael) Riggs; brothers, Kirby Burke and Rickey (Cheryl) Burke and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; 1 sister; infant grandson, Gabriel and a nephew. Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Pastor Fred
Mayes officiating and military honors by the Michigan Army National Guard Honor Guard Team. Visitation will be 4 - 8 P. M. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the funeral home and from 11:00 - 1:00 P M. Thursday before the service at 1:00 P. M.
