  • @TheMinotaur73 actually, poet Nicolas Guillen was doing this process back in the 1920s well into the 1980s. Nicomedes Santa Cruz was also doing this in the 1930s. Burroghs borrowed from Black vernacular language that was most prominent in Zora Neale Hurston's work of the 1920s. No one stole anything, we just need to know our history!
