Richard Bray talks about how St. Vincent de Paul makes a difference for our neighbors in need during these tough economic times, and how each of us can help participate in our compassion in action.

St. Vincent de Paul helps our neighbors in need. Over 700 neighborhood volunteers in Seattle and King County visit people in their homes to help with food, clothing, rent, power bills, and a host of other needs. Caring people and organizations support our mission of Compassion in Action.

We also run food banks, meal programs, and thrift stores for those in need. We visit lonely people and incarcerated people. We provided food, clothing and shelter to the western Washington flood victims recently. No work of charity is foreign to the Society.

Currently there are 52 Conferences in Seattle and King County supported by local donations.

Last year we helped over 51,000 people, provided over 580,000 meals, and gave over 83,000 hours of volunteer service. Our four thrift stores provided training and employment, volunteer service opportunities, and affordable or free clothing and household items to needy people. We recycled 687 tons of material.

Our values are your values. Join us. Be part of Compassion in Action.
