  • @hawkeye125646 And yes, i am familiar with a few passages from the Gospel of Peter but other than that i have not read the other two

  • @hawkeye125646 first of all i don't, as a Protestant, recognize the apocrypha as part of the Scriptures so i wouldn't look at those as proof nor recognize them as sufficient sources. I am also not refuting that they are historical, rather i am refuting that they are of the History genre. And i was mistaken, i went back in my study Bible as well as looking in The Expositions of the Scriptures and the NIVAC all say that Luke was written in the early 60's AD and Acts 70 AD

  • @mjm55 There are many perspectives, of WW II, For instance... Some people consider the war started, because of the amount of Telephone poles were created Like you said, the gospels were written in different perspectives. Again, do you have Archaeological findings, that would refute my documentation? Take your time. What do you know about the Gospel of Barnabus. Mary or Peter? They were used by the early church

  • @hawkeye125646 Accept a historical book on WW2 would not portray the actions in WW2 in different ways, nor the events told at different times or orders. The Gospels give the events in Jesus' life in different orders such as the cleansing of the temple. If they were written as a historical account don't you think they would be careful to make the events in the same order? They order the events in so as to create an image of Jesus that would speak to the person they were written to.

  • @mjm55 Even if it was written for 1 person, it is still consiedered historical, beaacuse Luke was called an historian. It would be like A historical book on WWII, written 10 years aferward, even written to one person is still vonsidered historical!

  • @mjm55 It could not have been written around 28 AD, because Jesus was still alive.. Historical documents took years to write. Jesus' Ministry, did not even start then. His ministry started around 30 AD.Oher than the one ESV translations, do you have any independant verification? Archaeological findings, have the times. Here are some names of scholars, you should look at: Robert Gromacki, Luke Timothy Johnson PHD, JP Moreland, PHD No historian put the Gospel before, 40 Ad.

  • @hawkeye125646 Luke was written around 28 ADand Acts was written around 70 AD which are the dates most scholars and study Bible authors and Commentary authors agree on these scriptures i got from the ESV translation

  • @hawkeye125646 Luke 1:3 it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time passed, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus.

Acts 1:1 In the first book, o Theophilus, i have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day he was taken up, ager he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.

They were part of a two letter series by Luke.

  • @mjm55 Luke was documented, between 80 and 130 AD, was written the very least, 40 years after Jesus ascended to heaven. The Acts were written before Luke. Matthew was written between 80-100 Ad. Mark was written 65-80 John between 90-120. You see, the Apostles thought that Jesus was going to come back. Pauls letters were the first to be written. which was between 50 to 60. Read about Polycarp, St Ignatius of Antioch and Justin Martyr. They were documented, in talking to the Roman Empire.

  • @hawkeye125646 Ok, in Luke's letter's (Plural since he has written both Luke and Acts) it is addressed to a specific person and i quote "most excellent Theophilus" and they are not histories, they are Gospels, a completely different genres. I am currently a Christian studies major with a minor in English and their is a HUGE difference between the Gospels and a historical account. It is told completely different. The Gospels are told as a narrative not as a historical account.
