Asus' Transformer had better watch its back now that Lenovo has announced it's Transformer Prime-baiting IdeaPad S2. Not only is it Ice Cream Sandwich flavoured, but it throws up an impressive 20 hours battery life when combined with the dedicated keyboard dock. • Awesome

  • L👀k's c👀L👍👍👍👍♣

  • Will it still run android when connected to the keyboard? Would be cool if it could run windows while connected. I have never felt that I needed a keyboard for my android products, but maybe there's a well thought out reason for it.

  • Duel core

  • am i the only one who can watch this in 3D?

  • why is the bit where the screen is connected to the keyboard always cut out of the video?

  • @thevillageorge but my main point really was the apps. As I said, android (and the apps for it) need to work on a zillion different devices, which means that a lot of them don't work properly on any of them. iOS, its and the apps for it are optimized for maybe 4 devices at a time? Guess which one works better.

  • I'm impressed that this and the Trans. Prime offer genuine alternatives to the tablet market at the top instead of what most Android tablets offer but it'll take a few years of tinkering to reach the iPad level. I personally won't get this but a newbie to tablets might consider and that's a good thing in my opinion.

It's a valid alternative to the iPad... brilliant. As for Lenovo, they've had a stunning CES 2012. Massively impressed with their range.

  • @Vmt16 I agree. As impressive this is, the major flaw is the Android interface. It's cool to look at and customize but do the apps have the reliability of iOS? I don't think so. In a few years though, who knows. But for now, I personally am not so sure.

Nice idea though, this and the Transformer Prime.

  • @Vmt16 ...then just go buy an iPad and be happy. The whole point of having a keyboard dock is for a physical keyboard - which some people prefer. Same with bluetooth keyboards for the iPad.

Not everyone finds using touchscreens for typing great.
