Are you kidding me!? Bigger fish my ass. Hack the obscene military budget and we could fund nasa indefinitely and have plenty left over. Nasa has had an unfathomable impact on our technology, society, and culture. There are countless things you use in your daily life that originated from Nasa. Where do you think the MRIs came from? How about satellite TV? Water Filters, Freeze dried food, memory foam, scratch resistant glass, the list goes on and on. To dismiss Nasa is to dismiss our future.

It wouldn't do any good as long as we have congress. Congress would throw up every possible roadblock, blame everything bad that happens on him, and nothing good would get done anyway. To succeed, Tyson would have to be given near-dictatorial powers, and something tells me he would refuse that. He's too decent a person, and not as power-hungry as the types who DO run for office.

First: thanks for thinking of that as a question. Second: But another question is why aren't we listening to this man instead of listening to the president. Oh, wait... I know why... it isn't us that is doing the listening - it is a media monopoly (yeah, & what's up with that anyway?) that's telling us what the president said & seldom letting this man speak his mind. So, another question: Why is the Media our media? I think "they" count on us being easy to disempower. We should prove them wrong.
