Progress report - my second week of weaning off suboxone. Get off opiates. Don't abuse suboxone. Suboxone was developed to help with withdrawal symptoms during your recovery. Recovery is not a 1,2,3,4 year process. It should take 3-9 months MAX. In my opinion. I have done countless hours of research, talked to several doctors and have come up with this WEAN off conclusion. I hope this encourages you to start the all important wean off stage in the battle to sobriety .

  • what insurance do you have that pays for your suboxone prescription

  • @famous2ondeck Insurance through my employeer, CIGNA. $20 co-pay I think it was. I was lucky! Without it I think 30 8mg's, at best was, $250 - crazy expensive (it's BS)

  • taking more than 4mg of sub will not give any greater opiate effect. The drug has a cut off point or ceiling level at 4 mg.

  • 4 milligrams of buprenorphine is the optimum dose, its a full dose because the ceiling effect for sub is 4 milligrams

  • @CHICKENMAN1313 i agree bro,,,,i was doing 5 80s a day or more and i quit cold turkey...i was doing that for over 1 year,,,but your right man....i dont kniow how all these new fish start meth or suboxone from 3 20s a day or 3 40s a day like fuk,,3 40s a day withdraw last 3 days..

  • Another Article states Physical Activity, Hot Bath/Shower, Vitamins, Massages, & (medication) Clonodine however, that medication has some side effects. I am posting these tips so hopefully people realize there are natural ways of alleviating symptoms/problems. Good Luck!

  • If you have been taking Suboxone for an extended period of time, and have successfully stopped using heroin and methadone, then your doctor may begin lowering your dosage of Suboxone. However, even if you have gotten down to 1mg per day of Suboxone, eliminating it completely is a difficult point for any opiate addict.

  • Throughout your detoxification, take L-tyrosine (500mg) tablets up to 2000mg and scale up or down, as needed. This amino acid should help you get moving in the morning by giving you a surge of energy and boosting natural brain chemicals that can improve your mood. Take a vitamin B-12 supplement along with the L-tyrosine to improve absorption, and include one multivitamin each day.
