I wrote this song on January 24, 2011. My mother had fixed a really awesome meal -- chicken tenders and french fries, a real treat for gluten-free girl like myself. I came home and saw the meal and thought it was wonderful. Panic ensued when I checked the fridge and discovered that there was NO DIPPING SAUCE-- no honey mustard, no barbeque sauce, not even ketchup. It was at this point-- when I found myself exiting the house and leaving hot food behind in pursuit of the local grocery store-- that I realized just how central condiments were to my existence. It was during that short trip to the store that I wrote most of the song and in a crazy three-hour creativity session in my room that night (I did eat the food first, don't worry) I laid down this love song to condiments.
Special thanks to those who helped me turn this crazy music video idea into reality:
- My friend Sally Lok, who shot and edited the video and took me way more seriously than she should have.
- My sister Nicole, who shopped for props and storyboarded with me while sitting beside a flowing stream, among other things.
- My sister LaKisha, who did my makeup and an outstanding job holding the fan to blow my hair, among other things.
(Both sisters were also forced to attend planning meetings).
- My nephew Isaiah, who shared his cuteness, after much coaxing.
So it's finally here! Enjoy!
This was awesome! Even though you would be horrified at my eating habits and lack of condiment use.

P. Although I am fundamentally opposed to the use of 75% of all condiments, especially any and all derivatives of MAYO and salad dressing, this is some of your best work. U are a truly special girl.
