Speirs:
You hid in that ditch because you think theres still hope. But Blithe, the only hope you have is to accept the fact that youre already dead, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner youll be able to function as a soldiers supposed to function.

  • this is the best scene in the whole trilogy

  • @darkstar3472 agreed, except I think it's called "dekalogy" since there's ten episodes and not three.

  • @berserker276 Well, I remeber he killed some German prisoniers for no reason. And this speech he gives, like it's normal to kill the enemy, like you deserve to die. You know there are countries who forces their citizens to go to war, like Germany in this case, so I just can't believe that just because you were born in Germany or Russia in that period of time. Or think about the Medieval ages. You were born a peasent, a peasent you remain. You can't return their lives.

  • if you're already dead you don't worry about dying

  • @temistoclebanana No, Speirs is a hero.

  • @temistoclebanana Lol, why's he an asshole?

  • A war machine.

  • Speirs is an asshole.

  • @Thurstoner Any scene with Speirs becomes even more awesome, I don't know why but he just seems to make me more alert.

  • @dtouey i think i am too late to help, but there is interesting philosophical insights from a book about the Russian Front. " The Forgotten Soldier" by Guyfrieter Saier. Fascinating, and horrifying, the closest a book has come to describe the horror and evil of war.

  • this ... has changed my life. no joke...
