The amazing Chris Poland gives the new ReignMaker speaker a test drive at NAMM 2010. With a built-in attenuator knob on the back of the speaker, players can achieve high-power tube tone at a lower volume. Learn more here: http://www.eminence.com/fdm.asp

  • Flawless!

  • Its amazing how even when he hits a horrible sounding note in the scale, he then uses it to his advantage. He almost seems to deliberately enjoy finding the most bizarre sounding notes and the challenge of fighting his way out of them with this amazing creativity/melodic ability.

  • @2FAST4L0VE Who cares what egotripolydian scale it is? Fuckin theory...yeah it's great, wish I learnt some, but I always get turned off playing when I try to analyze what it is I'm playing. It kills the vibe. Everything I play comes from deep within....not a fucking pre-planned collection of notes, that are supposed to go here or there. Chris's playing transcends scales and smashes all the guidelines to being a "metal shredder"!

  • @1madaboutguitar that's bassically what jazz is about in a nutshell and he's a rock player who is influenced by jazz. The accidentals give character and catch the ear off guard. It's such a great style.

  • @2FAST4L0VE Sounds like mixolydian and dominant pentatonic scales.

Looks like he holds the pick with index and middle finger, which if you try it gives you better attack and more clarity but is tricky to play fast with.

  • i've noticed chris never uses his index finger when holding a pick,it's always the middle finger, his index fingers have an easy time.

  • anybody can figure out what scales he uses here?

    dim - oriental?

  • omg hold the fking camera still

  • amazing to think about how this guy helped write some of the best Megadeth songs

  • Why there isn´t a single video where you show what this speaker can do? perhaps with an old fender amp: finding the right amount of drive at the right volume. I think for this sound you don´t need a speaker with fdm :-)
