Cee Lo Says 'Thank You' to Firefighters (Forget You Remix)

'Grammy Award-winning recording artist Cee Lo Green has teamed up with Duracell to show his appreciation to the nation's fire service.

It may sound like an odd combination at first, but the singer says he owes a lot to the volunteer firefighters who pulled his mother from a near-fatal collision when he was 16 years old.

His mother also volunteered as a firefighter.

As part of Power Those Who Protect Us campaign, Green transformed his popular song "Forget You" into "Thank You".

The campaign is a battery donation program focused on aiding firehouses across the country with out-of-pocket power expenses.

"As entertainers in the public light, we have a unique opportunity to raise awareness for causes close to our hearts through our greatest passion: music," Green said in a statement. "That's why I am proud to join the Power Those Who Protect Us cause, to tell my own story and shed light on the tireless sacrifices our nation's volunteers make each and every day to protect their communities." '

at least SOMEONE appreciates the fire service. In the fucked up county I live in, the main newspaper has some kind of vendetta against us and slanders volly FD's constantly, slating a lot of people against us. How can you complain about people who put their lives on the line without remuneration?

Join the club, I'm a career firefighter and the city I work for wants to shut everything down including fire and police. Maybe we should show them this video although all they would do is laugh and say whatever. It's ashame I much needed profession and hard working volunteers get shit on for their service. Brothers and sisters stay strong and positive and be safe.

I'm a vollie FF. I'd just like to say that it's easy to sit behind a chair, cut funding, and criticize your local FD. There certainly seems to be a lot of that going around. Everyone who joins the service has done so for their own reasons. The bottom line is that we're here to make a difference and help those in need. We appreciate the support and thanks! Thank you very much Cee Lo for this song it is awsome and as a volunteer fire police here or Pa we are always putting our lives in danger and this song is the best way to acknowledge all the fire fighters and fire police alike.
