The way the L.A. Lakers vs. Boston Celtics game started in the first quarter you would have never thought the final score would have the Celtics anywhere close to winning. But the Celtics erased a 13 point first quarter deficit and actually controlled the game from the middle of the second quarter on...until Kobe Bryant hit a game winning jumper with 7 seconds left to give the Lakers a 90 - 89 victory. Ray Allen had an open look but couldn't knock down the game winning jumper as time expired.

The Lakers jumped all over the Celtics early in the first half as they took a 13 point lead at one point, capitalizing on sloppy play by the Celtics. Boston was their own worst enemy with turnovers and lack of help defense as they made careless cross court passes that led to easy buckets by the Lakers.

At the end of the first quarter the score stood at Lakers 30, Celtics 19 and it looked like the Celtics were in danger of getting blown off their home court as the Lakers were hitting everything. But the tables turned in the second quarter as Boston increased their defensive intensity and eliminated the stupid turnover. Rajon Rondo started taking over and driving to the basket which lead to his own shots or open shots for his teammates.

The Celtics opened the second quarter on a 10 - 4 run to cut the 11 points Lakers lead to five points. Boston was able to sustain their intensity on both the offensive an defensive sides of the ball and pulled even at 40 - 40 midway through the second quarter. From there they reeled off a 12 - 2 run to cap off a 21 point swing, digging themselves out of a 11 point hole to take a 10 point lead at 52 - 42.

The Lakers were able to get a couple buckets back to close out the second quarter to make it a close game again with a half left to play. The score going into halftime has the Celtics up by five points, 52 - 47.

The Celtics continued their strong defense in the second half and led all the way through the third and open up an 11 point lead in the fourth with about nine minutes to go. But again Boston could not close out the game. Instead they allowed the Lakers to scratch their way back into the game and gave Kobe an opportunity to do his game winning shot thing he has loved to this season. Bryant's jumper over Ray Allen with 7 seconds left gave the Lakers their first lead in the second half and allowed the Lakers to walk out of Boston with a road win.

@Patriotsfan346 And I would say that the 15-1 post season lakers with Shaq at his prime would have beat the bulls. The X factor is a even MORE seasoned Phil Jackson.

@TheIrodrigu but i think you could say the best team of the 80's and 2000's because the bulls awned the 90's. and i do agree that the lakers squad was dominate but in the 90's i think the bulls shined more than the lakers and the lakers success or i should say Kobe's success is because of jordan. for the last 4 years of the 90's every time jordan and kobe met jordan was coaching him so you could say the 2000's lakers are a derivative of the 90's bulls

@Patriotsfan346 sure- the bulls owned the 90's but thats why I pointed out the last 30 years. 5 titles in the 80's and 5 titles in 2000's. That's not to mention how many times the Lakers made it to the finals but lost. The 90's bulls were top 3 teams ever but I don't think they were the best team ever. Did you see the 15-1 stretch that the lakers had in the playoffs? they were crushing good teams by 20-40 points per game. I remember watching them 4-0 the Spurs. That team was better period.
