This is the only figure skating routine that has really stuck in my memory, and I was only 8 or 9 when I first watched it during the Nagano Olympics. It really says something that I remembered this even now :)

Just have this wonderful performer and performance etched in my memory for ever. Fantastic. I just love everything about this guy. The sword sequence is the highlight to me.

his landings were messy, and from a technical point of view that was what lost him the gold - but i agree he deserved it. He embodies what the sport was about. He is literally dancing on the ice and everyone loved it.
From memory he had an encore as well? Everyone cheered for him to come back out and repeat the sword fight scene :)
