Research what, exactly? Chemtrails? Facts?
The only facts you will find in the research you do are the one's you have made up your mind about already. Your mind is closed, clouded with conspiracy.
At least I have decades of study, all of it supporting the facts paper to paper and year to year to fall back on. Can you name any two "chemtrail" studies that even support each other? I looked and I couldn't. Everyone has their own agenda. Which have you chosen?

So? I wasn't around when the Bible was written, yet read it daily. I was around when they wrote the US Constitution, either. Or the Magna Carta. Should I ignore that? Ignore anything written before I was born?
Do you realize how foolish your comment is? Do YOU not believe anything written of before you were born?
It's called research. When you see the name "Appleman" in several publications regarding contrails, you research. They use his work today. Who cares how old it is?

So, the poster is a pilot? No, I don't think so. He is parroting something he read/saw/heard somewhere else.
For a pilot to call them one thing is fine, for a non-pilot to use that terminology, not so fine.
Oh, and it's a fletching.

TAIL FEATHERS
Pilots refer to these surfaces euphuistically as the "tail feathers" because they function very much like
the fins on an arrow which used to be made from feathers. When taken as a whole, these surfaces generate aerodynamic forces that tend to return the airplane to straight flight when it is deflected due to a gust or turbulence. This provides the airplane with POSITIVE STABILITY.

Really, RESEARCH. LEARN.
Bet you didn't know that H. Appleman figured out a way to forecast contrails based on atmospheric conditions, including their persistence. It was published in 1953. That's 45 years BEFORE some idiot decided he knew more about the atmosphere than all the scientists who study it. And there is 45 years of published, peer-reviewed, multi-disciplined papers before 1998, and lots since then.
