MINNESOTA -- Vancouver Canucks forward Rick Rypien has been suspended indefinitely pending a hearing with the league for his altercation with a fan during the Canucks game against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday.

Rypien, who was assessed a double minor for roughing, as well as a 10-minute misconduct in the second period of the Canucks loss to the Wild on Tuesday night, was heading down the tunnel to the dressing room when he pushed a Wild fan that was applauding at the railing.

According to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman should be directly involved in the process because the incident involved a fan.

The NHL said that they would have no official comment until the matter is resolved.

It appears as though Rypien's hearing will take place on Friday and since it is an in-person hearing, the suspension will be at least five games in length.

  • @mahtieshaa Cool story bro.

  • *wasn't

  • The clapping was replaced with shitting in his pants the second Rypien grabbed him. He was escorted out of the building, just to the bathroom to change his underwear.

  • if i was attacked i would ve yelled rape

  • The kid with the beber hair was shitting his pants, and the other guy started fighting back behind the security...lol

  • wow i havnt seen this b4 this is insane

  • Aaaaaand where did Minnesota go that season? Nowhere. Where are they going this year? Nowhere.

  • @Cashmoney3590 what? I'm just saying they pay the players contracts and other things (even the opposing team). Fans can jeer, clap and cheer all they want as long as they don't go overboard, which this clearly wasn't.

  • @skydome29 fake

  • @cashmoney5490 They paid for it genius.
