  • Here's what I don't understand:

If an old typewriter has benefits (creative writing was mentioned) and people think about getting one, why is it that next to such a thing there is a standard Apple keyboard?

Wouldn't it make sense to pick the best of both and write on a computer but with a decent (mechanical) keyboard? It seems to me the pc universe is just too touchy and too shiny to remember the good things there were, like good (typewriter-like) keyboards.

  • @klackabaiaschi That's an interesting question. Maybe the demand for typewriter-like keyboards is too small.I personally would like a keyboard that is more like a typewriter!

  • how do you delete on those things....

  • @sleeksheepfox some typewriters have delete functions kind of like white-out

  • He looks almost exactly like Wallace Breen from Half-Life 2.

  • Now to find out what that weirder feature was...!

  • @arcticpenguin5 then get a buckling-spring keyboard! check out the unicomp customizer or ibm model m. nowadays computers have mushy membrane switches, but back in the 80s and mid 90s, they had mechanical switches, they feel amazing! check it out; i'm typing on one right now...

  • @luvrboy321 This one is manual.

  • @Wavedude21101 Check the power source. If you hear no energy at all, there might be something wrong with the plug which can be easily replaced.

  • @21djk Have one exactly like that one with also white keys. I've got it yesterday at the junkstore for $5,00. It is missing one of the plastic paper supports at the front but that's all beside a few minor scuffs. Mine has a german keyboard so it is a bit different typing with the Y and the Z sitting in the wrong spot. But i love it. I hope to find another one just like it because the SM9 and SM7 are great. I also hope to get a SM7. Does you're machine have white colour too?

  • @MrKrevolution It can be slower than typing with a keyboard but it's a lot of fun!
