I don't see anything wrong with this ad. It never compares Binladen to Cleland, nor call Cleland unpatriotic.

the president's "vital" homeland security efforts... bwahahahaha

On this day, the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Saxby-Chambliss should look back with shame on his attack ad. You took an event which should have unified the country and dabased and corrupted it to be used for crass political propoganda. I pray that as you contemplate the events of 10 years ago you, will acknowledge that shame that you know lies hidden in your heart.

Typical Republican behavior.

@YJPY - It's an outrage to many because Cleland had lost three limbs in Vietnam. The ad was a blatant questioning of his patriotism.

Zaxby Patriot Act Chambliss

I'm a hard core liberal, and honestly, what's wrong with this? I heard about this ad and honestly it's just questioning Cleland's judgment not his patriotism. Cleland and Osama aren't even on the screen at the same time.

this is such a wannabe issue that isn't an issue. There is nothing here about relating Cleland to Osma or even saying he was unpatriotic. Whiners on the left just hate it when their leftist candidates lose and they feel it has to be because of dastardly evil republican tricks! Get over it!

This helped Chambliss win the election. But some people claim that it associated Cleland to osama and saddam which I do not see
This commercial still makes me sick. The way they smeared an honorable man like they did tells me Chambliss has no heart. To this day I still refer to him as Saxby the Skunk. BTW, the original commercial did have Bin Laden's & Cleland's photos together. It was changed later.
Cleland served honorably in Vietnam, continued his public service while running the V.A. under Carter, then as GA Secretary of State & US Senator. I'm proud to have voted for him, & will spit on Chambliss if given a chance.
