People if you have the right equipment and a training partner then it's a very effective way to learn. The instructors are right there on the tv screen to show you the techniques and explain the material. I study the SCARS dvd's and one of TFT's and I've learnt a lot. It actually could give you an advantage when you decide to train at a gym. Try it people before you comment and about SCARS and TFT I believe they're the best systems for street protection.

Muay Thai FAMily rocks ... who is this training from ??
SawazzzzzzzzzDEE. ;-)

@TechniquePrevails I think learning from a qualified instructor and training with other guys (and gals:) is the best way, however learning stuff like this and expanding your MA knowledge base is definitely a healthy approach. Not only are you getting to see what else is out there, but you get to take from what you learn and find your own style..... just my opinion.

my first muay thai training was with the first DVD, i got no coach i live in tasmania , you can check out my video reponse, after using the DVD for about a year now

Now is the complete muay thai home study course, which is 5 volumes. Is it for beginners? Which one is the advanced set.

I just received this set. I highly advise anyone to get it. If you are a beginner though, I would advise getting the original Muay Thai Home Study Course. This one picks up where the original left off. I give this set 5 stars though.
I have no droughts that the content is great, but...how effective is it to learn martial arts watching a dvd by yourself at home? Usually to learn Martial Arts you need to train with at least another individual and with an instructor, isn't that right?

@LeontariF1 I completely agree that there are no videos that are a substitute for a qualified instructor. However, I also think that supplemental learning resources such as videos and books can help you to decrease the learning curve and to keep your techniques sharp.
If nothing else, hopefully these will spark enough interest to get someone involved in the sport and help bring more people to it. And how much can they learn? Well- that much more than if they didn't have the videos.
Thanks!
