Anybody know if the FB-3 has more/less/same amount of gain available as the FB-2 here? I need a boost that can cover volume and/or gain and has a wide range of each. Thanks!

@yobhsiFehT According to Fulltone they both have 35db of clean gain. This is one of the most capable boost pedals out there and can used simply as a transparent volume boost or as a very musical way to sculpt some great drive sounds. The FB-3 took many of the more popular features from the first two editions and combined them into one. They are all great pedals and it is definitely worth checking out the different versions since they all have different sounds.

Ah, thanks, but I meant "gain" in the more common sense, meaning "distortion" - I notice the FB-3 went back to the selector-switch kind of knob for that control whereas the FB-2 has a smooth, continuous pot, but other than that, it's hard to tell what difference in SOUND there might be.

@yobhsiFehT There is not much of a difference in gain, they have about the same level of saturation when you crank them. The difference is more in the tonal character. The FB-2 is more colored, and is more of a mid-range boost. The FB-3 has a fatter low end and doesn't color the tone of the instrument as much. The difference is actually pretty striking. In my opinion the FB-3 is the better sounding of the two, but some might like the FB-2 for its coloration.
