Robert McChesney and John Nichols on The Death and Life of American Journalism: The Media Revolution that Will Begin the World Again
University of Illinois Professor Robert McChesney and The Nation correspondent John Nichols, two leading advocates of the media reform movement, join us to talk about their new book, The Death and Life of American Journalism: The Media Revolution that Will Begin the World Again. McChesney and Nichols argue that journalism should be seen as a public good and that the government should help save American journalism by granting more subsidies to newspapers and media outlets.
the only thing that concerns me about nichols is he seems to think he knows what we all should want.

I could have watched many more hours of this content. It is particularly important to understand the history of newspapers & the postal system. Also, we need more emphasis on bringing up continual cadres of fresh journalists that are paid as well as firefighters & police & teachers & nurses.
A good measure of the moneys needed for journalists & bureaus & distribution should be pegged to the expenditures of military & all manner of securities nationally. Hence in wartime (most) more REAL news.

The discontent is because they tell lies
to benefit the bloodsuckers running our country.
Most of the mainstream media is for corporations.Rupert Murdock owns the biggest portion of our media here in this county. Until these criminals are banned from government influence it is business as usual. Enjoy the show folks.
