  • Hello!

How do you pronounce the c?

In the Spanish courses I had they told me that I had to pronouce the 'c' and 'z' as the English 'th' as in 'thanks'.

Like 'cerca' said like 'therca'. Is it only in Spain that they pronouce the 'c' and the 'z' like this?

  • Yes, you are right. In Spain they pronounce it as you say. In Latin America it sounds like an S. No big difference though. You will be perfectly understood everywhere with any of the two.

    Happy Spanish learning.

    Julio

  • This is part of our introductory course that can get any learner to express himself or herself in MOST everyday situation in as little as 10 sessions. But this material is exclusive for our students and is used during our lessons with a live instructor. This material is not here on youtube, sorry.

  • See here's the thing about language. to learn it you have to speak it and get involved in it. It has to surround you. Babys don't learn their parent's tongue by sitting in front of a blackboard. The best language teaching courses is throwing a person into a language and leaving them there to drown in it. lol....peace.
