Mike Daly does a recruitment speech at the International Association of Character Cities conference in 2005 describing how he recruited the city of Cincinnati into the Character Cities program.
We use these character books shown when we "count the omer" as we are commanded to do in Leviticus 23; a character for each of 49 nine days, and then Pentecost/Shavuot/Feast of Weeks, planting seeds and praying for a good harvest. Character qualities are also expressed as "fruit of the spirit": love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control - maybe with slightly different terminology. (The second video is more interesting.)
