US Seizes Control of AIG with $85 Billion Bailout
The US government has seized control of insurance giant American International Group in an unprecedented $85 billion bailout. The Federal Reserve made the deal on Tuesday to save AIG from collapse in what the New York Times describes as the most radical intervention in private business in the central banks history. The move comes as a series of financial crises has altered the landscape of Wall Street. We speak with investment banker turned journalist, Nomi Prins, and Michael Hudson, president of the Institute for the Study of Long-Term Economic Trends. [includes rush transcript]

The republicans have been the absolute top proponents of deregulation for the past 40 years!!!! Republicans insisted on deregulation. Im not doubting that the democrats did their share of complicity for this crisis. Both parties did. This is why ordinary people cant depend on these parties for change.

And of course for the regular person like you and me, the Bankruptcy Laws got a lot harder. My solution: They just call a world wide "Jubilee" with all debts to all are pardoned and we all can start over. That would certainly jump start the economy.

The "rich" that ripped off the gov't for $700 happened to be the Democratic elected officials (Barney Frank especially) that allowed this travesty to manifest after repeated warnings from Republicans in 2004 and 2005. The fact that BF kept this disaster afloat while his "insignificant" other was working at Fannie Mae may not be a big deal to you but it reeks with inside corruption. Are you so opened minded your brains have dripped out?

People are losing their homes in the millions, and the rich just stole $700 billion dollars from US taxpayers, and all you can think about is some insignificant relationship that a politician had with someone else???? Are you really that narrow-minded?

Barney Frank's homosexual relationship with Herb Moses (Fannie Mae executive) has not even been whispered in the mainstream media...classic and usual cover-up. Check it out for yourself if you are one that is intellectually honest and not just trying to push the old "right thinking us , wrong thing them" mindset. How did he get the job, how much of our $ was he paid ?? I'm sure that Dem Now will look into this and report the Conflict of interest re: our $ ...right?? sure you will...
