California Dreamin' - The Songs Of The Mamas & The Papas is a one-hour special celebrating the harmonious pop-rock group and highlights a wealth of classic television performances that have not been seen for more than 35 years. The special blends full-performance clips, rare home movies, exclusive interviews with members Michelle Phillips, the late John Phillips and Denny Doherty, and vintage footage of the late Mama Cass Elliot. The hit songs featured include Monday, Monday, Dedicated to the One I Love, I Call Your Name, Words of Love, Dancing in the Street, I Saw Her Again, Creeque Alley, California Dreamin', and more. Family, friends and colleagues - including Michelle and John Phillips' daughter Chynna (of Wilson-Phillips fame), Mama Cass' daughter Owen, legendary record producer Lou Adler, and contemporary performing colleagues John Sebastian and Barry McGuire - offer colorful commentary.

  • Haha! And to think, John originally didn't want Cass in the group! :D

  • Where's #7 dammit!, I cannot find it

  • A legend all the way to her gogo boots. And the lady is really singing on Words of Love, a rarity on the Sullivan show at this time, where bad lipsynching was the accepted norm. Sullivan hated rock and roll singers and thought they couldnt be trusted to emulate their sound live.

  • My favorite group of all time. Miss the 60's and 70's.

  • Thank God vinyl is making a comeback. CDs are great for the car but nothing sounds like vinyl at home. The Doors have a 7" vinyl record of Riders On The Storm coming out soon. x

  • @rocksinger45 I know. I've been a guitarist for 35 years, and I have tried using digital amp modelers, and that type of stuff.

It sounds sterile and generic. I will never get rid of my vintage tube amps. And yes, vinyl records do in fact sound better than cd's. It's not even close really....

  • Mama Cass 4Ever !!!

  • @jwandhistools Music much like art are period pieces, it was the sound of the studio amps tubes etc that give it, it's familiarity ..sad to say you can't go back in time...ask the engineers at Motown. :)

  • Jesus! Michelle is soooooo friggin' HOT! She could wear a radioactive burlap sack and she would make it deactive and look like a ball-room gown just by draping it over her shoulders!!!

  • c'est toujours un rayon de soleil, avec leurs chansons je me dis que la vie est belle
