ya i think its just a matter of personal pref. suicide grip does serve a purpose tho. it puts the bar almost in line with the forearm so theres no serious hyperextension in the wrists. it also allows the wrists to maintain rigidity. ball ur fist w/ ur thumb wrapping ur fingers...get a buddy to try & bend ur wrist over...happens pretty easy. now put that thumb on top of that 2nd index knuckle..i dont care how big he is, he wont be able to bend ur wrist over. different strokes for different fokes.
No doubt, that guy in the red is a beast! And he uses good powerlifting form. Pulls the bar down, then pushes up, not back. It is good to see good form on that much weight. Thumbs up to all!!
That kind of brench press..... it mainly targets your arms more than your chest right????

@JayDerrty i was just curious, but you can push harder without the thumb and its easier to keep the bar in line with ur elbow..imo...
