  • i didnt know when, but i know the Erie Railrway 9(real name ifor the ERIE) was abandoned in the 60's 'cuz recently the platform for the staion was torn down after per fell 2the ground. this past summer (09)

  • I do hope that anyone who is interested in Elmira railroads joins the "Chemung Valley Railroad Historical Society. And the National Association Of Railroad Passengers in Washington, DC. Finally you should always include a Amtrak ride at least twice a year.

  • 1959 the passenger trains were rerouted over the Erie Railroad accross town. The Erie and the Lackawanna merged trying to save money and stay in business. While the government which was and is run by the highway lobby. Was spending billions and billions on highways and airports which finally killed the railroads.
