  • This chick can blow! I like the mix voice at 1:38, bucking the trend of singing falsetto. Then she went even higher @ "...and the home..."

    It was beast!

  • @senor3210 Yeah she has many amazing gifts, follow her efforts you won't be disappointed.

  • @senor3210 I can't stop replaying the ending 1:32...:"for the land of the free.." . It never gets old.

  • B.R.A.V.E.!!!!

  • People...Whitney isnt even a soprano. She's an alto. Be real, if your were to put her in a choir she would be over with the altos. She has a strong voice and her resonance is off the hook. But against Karen?...Karen would run, whistle, squall, and growl all over her. #letsbehonest

  • Go Karen

  • Mind you, I LOVE Whitney, but as far as "prime" is concerned Whitney would come close, but Karen would still take her THEN, and especially now. One thing Karen has on a lot of singers out of their prime now is longevity. And as far as runs are concerned, listen to Karen's catalogue and you will find that she only goes wild when need be. Yes, she can over sing, but it'll be few and far between where she would completely go off the melody of the song like a lot of popular singers now.

  • I'm yet dead at the comparisons of Whitney and Karen. This was impromptu for Karen. Whitney had an orchestra, give Karen an orchestra and she'd really turn it out. As far as Karen's "falsetto" it is widely known that women technically don't have one. Karen is a mixer, she mixes her chest voice with her head voice which creates a brighter sound. Whitney's resonance comes from mostly her mask, which the higher she goes, she'll lose power.

  • @BishopMorgan In your opinion. But, in mine Karen does way too many runs and her chest voice is weak. Karen wouldn't be understood outside of a gospel audience because people don't understand all that, running and stuff. Love her (at times) but she over does it for the most part. This was a good simple vocal, but comparing it to Whitney's version is just foolish. If they were toe to toe singing this without a mic, Karen wouldn't even be heard.

  • @CameronWrightTV No its not. I get to hear her often both on stage and off. Karen gives you what she want when she wants to give it to you. Both Karen and Whitney are awesome singers but, there is NO COMPARISON.

  • @BishopMorgan well, her mixed register is weak. Whitney belted this in the same key in full chest.

  • @CameronWrightTV females dont have falsetto, only men.
